Montana Basecamp lays at the bottom of this ancient glacial flow that had walls of ice thousands of feet tall and more then 20 miles wide. This enormous glacier filled and slowly pushed from the far north, through Flathead Valley and to the south. Current day craggy peak mountains were to tall for the ginormous glacier to topple but smooth topped mountains were crushed and taken over by the glacial ice flow. This is most noticeable traveling south along HWY 93 towards Missoula. When the Ice Age glaciers receded Flathead Valley was left with an extreme landscape and a valley floor covered with rich soils, rivers and lakes. Now today, Montana Basecamp RV Park provides a thoughtful, convenient and wonderful basecamp for easy access up to Glacier National Park or Great Northern Bike Trail to the heart of bustling downtown Kalispell.
